Kate Hill
When I arrived in NZ from London in 1981 I was predominantly working with fabric, fibre and stitch. Winning a major award at that time enabled me to embark of a journey of further study through fabric printing to traditional and digital print making.
My current work reflects all these influences and has been selected for many significant shows and awards.
The experience of restoring and maintaining one of Hamilton’s many gullies continues to inform my work as does our hillside property looking out to the Alderman Islands in Tairua. The many challenges and delights of contemporary life are another source of inspiration.
