Peter Augustin

Peter, born Slovenia, Swiss national, has lived in New Zealand since 2004. First in Wellington and Kapiti Coast before moving to Whitianga in May 2021. He studied painting in Switzerland with renowned artists Paul Haelan and Otto Gilli. Peter is influenced by lyrical abstraction artists and creates a wide variety of figurative, landscape and historical themed works as paintings or print mediums. He has widely exhibited in Europe including Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Russia. Since moving to New Zealand, Peter has become an elected member of the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, and a member of several groups including Mercury Bay Art Escape.
